Manage, Control & Monitor your Hybrid Live Video Streams

For all incoming source signals, SHIFT is the main gateway. It receives live signals from sports events and uses the SRT protocol to stream the content to two FLICS transcoding instances that record defined ABR profiles to be used to publish content on the VOD platform of the customer.

As the availability of the VOD assets is of high value to the customer, the entire recording and publishing workflow runs on-premise and in the cloud as a backup. SHIFT delivers live feeds simultaneously to both transcoder instances and is used for monitoring the source signals.

LIVE PRODUCTION IN THE CLOUD

Manage & Route Live Signals in Public Cloud Environments

This use case describes a live production scenario, where the content is produced in a studio, and the live production is done in the cloud, remotely controlled by operators working from another location.

All live camera signals are sent to a SHIFT cloud installation over the public internet using the SRT protocol.

SHIFT takes the incoming sources and sends them as TS/UDP stream to the live cloud mixer application that is accessed and controlled remotely. The live output of the mixer (TS/UDP) received by SHIFT is forwarded to an on-premise decoder via SRT over the public internet to view the live output on a control monitor.
